Supporting the team, you will take responsibility for managing third party logistics providers to maximise the availability of our products into the distribution centres and stores.

In conjunction with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivering a high quality and cost efficient inbound supply chain both through operational and project management. You will be working as part of a growing and developing supply chain team, looking for continuous improvement within your role to simplify processes and maximise efficiencies.

You will be working as part of a growing and developing supply chain team, looking for continuous improvement within your role to simplify processes and maximise efficiencies.

Your new role:

  • Supporting the deployment of the AHEAD Transportation Solutions for NSCM including SAP TM
  • Operating as the Centralised Outbound Planning Team sitting within our NSCM Department working a typical 2pm to 10pm shift with some requirement for night working foreseen in the future - details on interview
  • Internal and external stakeholder engagement of all levels of business.
  • Continuous improvement within role, simplifying processes and operations to maximise efficiencies.
  • Support the delivery of the department strategy as required.
  • You will be responsible for delivering a high quality and cost-efficient outbound supply chain Transportation plan daily for one or more Aldi Regions through operational management.

About you:


  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain, especially Transportation Planning with demonstratable experience
  • Experience of working with distribution centres, outbound transport teams and store delivery teams from a central position
  • GCSEs or equivalent
  • Confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of all levels is key.
  • Need strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities.
  • Innate curiosity; always striving to improve and simplify processes and ensure consistency wherever possible.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task, be pro-active and work on own initiative, working both in a team and independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel and Word.
  • Ability to investigate and analyse a challenge and offer a solution.
  • A desire for continued personal development.
  • Flexible and resilient when workload demands it.
  • Project management skills desired.
  • Willingness to upskill on new topics and software.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel as required both within GB/IE to ALDI Regions (minimal)
  • Experience of centralised Transportation Planning roles and Supply chain understanding of product flow and how stock gets to Stores would be advantageous.

  • Working hours, 40 per week on a 2pm to 10pm shift pattern over 7 days, (1 full weekend in 3 off)
