Our National IT teams support Aldi by delivering our system and infrastructure needs. In this vital, hands-on role, you'll provide first and second-level support. Plus, you'll make recommendations to improve what we do – testing new and existing programs as needed. You're a specialist after all.

We are looking for an IT Specialist to support the National IT Assortment team who support the National Buying teams with a whole host of applications. The landscape continues to be enhanced to achieve greater efficiencies and better user experience. To stay on top of this ever-changing roadmap you will need to be an organised and adaptable individual. This is a great opportunity to play a part in shaping and supporting the future of the Buying Department.
You will work closely with our National Business Coordination team but also be able to form relationships in International IT and across the ALDI global network.
You will not only be responsible for multiple systems but be a stakeholder in several projects and therefore attention to detail, efficiency, and ability to successfully balance multiple priorities will be key.

Your New Role
- Communicate across all levels within the company, as well as external partners
- Investigate and analyse challenges to put systems and procedures in place to enhance efficiency
- Maintains an understanding of user requirements and open issues for area of responsibility and takes action to resolve
- Liaise with project leads to adopt and action any changes where these relate to applicable business area
- Co-ordinate and direct consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers as required
- Challenges upwards or pushes back to the business if required for the benefit of the organisation
- Explores new technical approaches and identifies where improvements to systems are required within own area, including involving and liaising with International IT as required
- Establish good working relationship with affected Business Teams
- Responsible for training other members of the team where necessary and creating relevant training material and support documentation
- Provide 1st and 2nd level support for National Buying, National Supply Chain and Services and National Administration business users including international & national applications where required
- Create and maintain project documentation for releases and enhancements in conjunction with International IT, NBC and Business as needed
- Maintain an understanding of user requirements and open issues for the area of responsibility, actioning change requests and supporting demand process where appropriate
- Reports into the Assortment Manager
- Manage and implement scheduled software updates and planned changes to supported solutions
- Provide visibility of future application versions and functionality, which may impact the business
