We are looking for a Music therapist to join our team

Location: Chester, Cheshire

Setting: The Hospice of the Good Shepherd

The Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care for the people, relatives and carers of the local community. A music therapist is required to work closely with the multidisciplinary team and provide individual sessions for people receiving Inpatient care. and individual and/or group sessions for people attending the Hospice on an outpatient basis in the Living Well Centre.

Number of hours per week: 5 hours

Length of contract: 18 months. Following this period, there will be the potential for the music therapy service to continue, funding permitting.

MusicPlace North-West is a well-established, music therapy charity based in Liverpool. We provide music therapy services in a range of health and educational settings across Merseyside and Cheshire. We also provide sessions for privately referred clients at our base in Liverpool..

Our charity is dedicated to providing quality services, to enabling people in the North-West to have access to music therapy when they need it and to raising awareness of the potential benefits and effectiveness of music therapy.

We are a friendly, supportive team of music therapists and hold regular online team meetings.

We are looking for a creative, sensitive, enthusiastic and empathic therapist with excellentcommunication skills. Applications from newly qualified therapists are welcomed. Experience of working in palliative care would be an advantage.

The post will be on a self-employed basis. Sessional rate: £40 per hour

Management and administrative support will be provided as well as opportunities for CPD

MusicPlace North-West is committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to keeping them safe. Applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and to be registered with the HCPC. Professional Indemnity Insurance is also a requirement of the post.
