Hull Piano School is a city centre facility offering high quality private tuition mainly to children but also to some adults. It focusses on developing sound classical skills from the very beginning.
The school has a first-class reputation and gives a comprehensive service, supporting exams and competitions according to the students' objectives. The school also arranges performance experience through concerts. The majority of our students pass their exams with Distinction.
The school has spacious facilities which enable social distancing and is well equipped to provide for talented pupils with a high quality grand piano. It is also equipped with facilities for online lessons when necessary.
Job description
This is a unique opportunity for anyone wanting to develop into a high-class piano teacher. The hours of work would initially be on a Saturday afternoon and evening and would increase as the teacher builds a client list. Additional commitments include supporting concerts and recording for exam entries.
Piano teaching is a highly rewarding career where the teacher contributes to children's development. It impacts their musicianship, ability to concentrate, motivation and reflects real achievements. Teachers contribute to their students' character development typically over ten years. They get to know their families and enjoy the successes of their students.
The successful candidate will have a well-developed piano technique and be committed to lifelong learning in the fields of technique, teaching skills, management, administrative skills and interaction with families. Evidence of eligibility to work in the UK must be provided and a DBS will be required.
The initial job will be to give tuition under guidance with a view to building up a new client base.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 10 per week
Salary: £12.00-£20.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
The office is spacious and has hand washing facilities which all students are required to use before and after touching the piano (for protection of the piano as well as for health reasons)
There is a covid protocol and risk assessment.
