Music Publishing Administrator (Product Data Management Assistant - Repertoire Registration)

A Little Bit About Our Team

Be at the forefront of ensuring that PHONO SOUNDS UK sets the standards for excellence in metadata in the music industry. The Product Data Management team sits within Global Data Operations. As a team we oversee all aspects of metadata quality and entry at PHONO SOUNDS. Be part of a team who enters, analyses and coordinates data accuracy, whilst also communicating data standards to labels and affiliates worldwide.

Your Role

This role will primarily involve ensuring all our recording assets follow various collection societies’ data standards, so PHONO can maximise the revenue we receive from public performance. As we join and roll out an exciting new global neighbouring rights portal feed, you will also be involved in helping to set up new processes to analyse the accuracy of our recording assets. This could also involve assisting in testing and optimizing the metadata quality in the feed, suggesting development changes, whilst all the time working confidently with large volumes of data accurately. The role will also involve assisting the Product Data Management teams with projects related to accuracy and entry around other aspects of metadata impacting financial data flows, external digital service providers or data being transitioned to new internal systems being rolled out.

Here You’ll Get To

  • Work with the Product Data Management team to review asset metadata and request required changes to ensure 100% data standard compliance
  • Assist with the testing of the new DDEX registration feed into the new RDx portal (Global Neighbouring Rights registration data exchange), suggesting development changes or process flow changes as necessary
  • Assist with error messages resulting from the new DDEX feed and advise as necessary to the relevant teams to ensure prompt resolution
  • Work with the development team to ensure the DDEX feed flows correctly and contains all the information required to receive all revenue due
  • Build relationships with A&R to ensure the correct performers are linked to assets
  • Build relationships with the PHONO affiliates to ensure they enter our repertoire correctly to enable accurate registration
  • Monitor PPL and PRS, MCPS, ASCAP is receiving notifications of when PHONO’S relevant rights in repertoire end
  • Review current processes and suggest ways to improve any inefficiency

About You

  • You are educated to a minimum A-level standard (with good academic grades)
  • You are passionate about being highly organised with an excellent consistent level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • You excel in prioritising tasks effectively, and work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • You are able to take initiative and responsibility over own workload while working within the goals of the team, and as part of a team environment
  • You are proactive in seeking out new projects and looking for new ways to enhance our neighboring rights income
  • You have experience of handling data and strong analytical skills
  • You have demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You are computer proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook and have strong Microsoft Excel skills And Mac

We’d Love It If You Also Had

  • Working knowledge or metadata experience in the neighbouring rights industry and/or recording music industry
  • You have proven a track record of consistent and high-quality delivery in a music metadata management environment
  • Ability to manage metadata related projects
