Job description
Hosting and voice tracking a mid-day radio show Monday through Friday and one additional weekend show. Research, monitor and prepare content for each show that engages the audience and promotes station events. Fill-in as morning show co-host as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and host mid-day radio show.
- Research and conduct pre-recorded and live interviews with community leaders, authors and artists.
- Utilize voice tracking software.
- Utilize audio editing software.
- Operate audio consoles in the main and voice-tracking studios.
- Voice station and underwriting promos.
- Fill-in as morning show co-host as needed.
- Deliver voice tracking files via ftp (file transfer protocol) on deadline.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
On-air hosting experience. Audio console operation experience preferred.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.

- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is primarily a climate-controlled office setting and occasionally requires attending year-round outdoor promotional events. Office is well lighted and the noise level is moderate at times. Work from home may be encouraged or required at times.
Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
