The team
As a Music Assistant working within the ITV Music Department you will be supporting the team which provides all music supervision, reporting, licensing and administrative support to ITV Studios and other group production companies, as well as to producers supplying content for broadcast on all ITV’s TV channels and online platforms. You are a fast learner who can respond quickly, proactively, effectively and with initiative to whatever task comes your way.
You will liaise closely with the Heads of Music, Music Managers, Senior Music Executives and Music Executives. Assisting with the day to day department workload, you’ll be helping to supply music to productions, checking copyright data and undertaking blanket clearances, as well as completing music usage analysis and ensuring that all music usage across the ITV network is reported to the music collecting societies in an accurate and timely manner. You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the department’s cloud based music delivery and document archive system and assisting with the researching and creation of library music playlists.
The role
- Help provide music supervision services (including music research and supply, music clearance, licensing and contract support) to both in-house and independent producers making content for ITV and third party broadcasters;
- Effectively perform day to day administration tasks to support the ITV music team, their contract, document and data management processes and policies and any other music, rights, contractual or legal processes as required;
- Maintain and work with ITV’s music reporting systems to ensure the timely and accurate submission of music cue sheets to the music collecting societies;
- Maintain and update various internal databases, music clearance delivery systems, document management and rights management systems;
- Manage the day to day updating and maintenance of the department’s cloud based music delivery system.
- Assisting with the researching and creation of library music playlists to brief.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and any other element of the Music team’s operations as required;
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- 1-2 years experience working within the creative industries, preferably for a music publisher or record label or within a broadcast music team in administrative capacity.
- A basic understanding of music licensing and copyright including an understanding of the differences between masters and compositions and synchronisation and performing rights.
- Tech savvy and proficient in Gmail, Google Docs, Microsoft Office.
