This is an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join the Adult MSK Physiotherapy Outpatient Service at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The role is for 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis. We are flexible with working patterns and aim to support all of our staff in gaining a healthy work-life balance.
The service receives referrals from GP's, self-referrals, MSK CATS and Orthopaedic Consultants as well as a variety of other health professionals. As part of WWL we have direct contact with the Consultants and specialist physiotherapists at Wrightington hospital, which as a centre of excellence in orthopaedic surgery provides us with excellent learning opportunities.
This is enhanced by a comprehensive in-service training programmes incorporating both internal and external speakers.
The role also involves the development of other staff in the team, teaching students, supervising unqualified staff.

The role will require you to work across all areas in the trust which includes those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic and negative covid wards.
We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic physiotherapists ready to take the next step in their career to join us and to take the service forward in redesigning the future of MSK provision. You will work alongside experienced senior colleagues providing evidence based musculoskeletal physiotherapy in clinic based settings. We offer a number of class based programmes and hydrotherapy as well as individual treatments. We provide post op rehabilitation for patients referred from Choice and from our local hospitals.

On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
- To be responsible for the assessment, treatment and management of patients within the MSK Physiotherapy service.
- To provide advice, supervision and education to healthcare professionals, students and carers.
- To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
- To provide advice and education to therapy assistants and students with support from senior clinicians.
