Job description
Joining us as a Multi-trade Apprentice, we’ll set you on the path towards becoming a property maintenance expert who does the job the right way; not just completing maintenance work to a high standard but putting the customer at the heart of everything you do.
You’ll benefit from a structured three-year development programme of classroom and on-the-job based learning, designed to support you to develop and practice one main trade, before broadening your skills across a range of complementary trades.
We have apprenticeship available across the Midlands, covering the following regions:
- Birmingham (covering Birmingham and surrounding areas).
- North (covering Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas).
- East (covering Coventry, Leicester, Northampton and surrounding areas).
The programme:
- Year 1: With a starting salary of £16,000 per year, you’ll start a single trade qualification (carpentry, plumbing or electrics) whilst you shadow, support and receive mentoring from an experienced Multi-trade Operative. We’ll even support you to obtain you driving license if you don’t have one already!
- Year 2: You’ll complete your single trade qualification and carry out more hands-on work relating to this trade, whilst still working alongside and being mentored by a Multi-trade Operative. We’ll also increase your salary to circa £22,000 per year to recognise your growing abilities.
- Year 3: You’ll complete multi-trade qualifications (e.g. plastering, tiling, glazing, groundworks) whilst independently carrying out maintenance works. You’ll still be mentored by a Multi-trade Operative and again, we’ll increase your salary to £28,000 per year.
And then? You’ll be a fully qualified Multi-trade Operative, earning £34,000 per year + bonus. You’ll be capable of diagnosing and completing a broad range of maintenance work, with an appreciation of the importance of providing brilliant ‘right-first-time’ customer experience.
Our ideal candidate? You’ll have achieved a grade 4/C or higher in GCSE English and Mathematics. Other than that, you bring the right passion and drive to develop you career as a trade-person, alongside some strong communication skill and common sense, and we’ll teach you the rest!
