Role Overview:
Be an essential part of the engineering team and ensure the daily efficient operation of all equipment and machinery on site. The team will be responsible for carrying out engineering maintenance, repair and/or installation duties as determined by business priorities, ensuring objectives on safety, quality and output are achieved.
The team will be pivotal in leading the culture and values within the Engineering and wider team, to maximise the efficiency and quality of products produced on site, whilst delivering outstanding customer service. The team will work safely and focus on personal and team development in a continuous improvement environment.
Key Behaviours and Skills :
- Ideally have experience of working within a food manufacturing industry – being part of a shift or team which has delivered high quality products safely whilst achieving the company volume targets through first class customer service standards.
- Demonstrate operating and engaging effectively with colleagues and contractors whilst delivering day to day duties.
- Be integral to the planning, installation, and management of company capital projects.
- Have the ability to communicate well, be flexible and show reliability, commitment and enthusiasm for the role.
- Work closely, and in an aligned fashion, with Operations, Technical, Packing and Warehouse departments to ensure the wider objectives of the business are achieved.
- Ideally, not essential, hold a valid FLT/MEWP licence
- Ideally experience and training certification of working at height
- Show adaptability and proven track record of delivering electrical and mechanical maintenance and installation.
Key Responsibilities :
- PEOPLE – responsible for ensuring that all individuals work within a safe environment; ensuring all machinery is maintained, checked and kept in safe operable condition supporting all teams across the business.
- OPERATIONS – work with operational and technical teams to ensure the highest standards of food quality, maintenance and hygiene standards are maintained. Ensure yield and efficiency levels allow the business to achieve customer and budget obligations, by reducing company downtime. Ensure all maintenance and repair work is reported appropriately and all safety documentation is completed in a timely manner. Ensure the Clean As You Go policy is maintained and tools are housed appropriately and securely. Utilise fully and adhere to the safety and work permit policy system. Comply and deliver to a high standard the company planned preventative maintenance programe. Respond effectively to all breakdowns.
- HEALTH & SAFETY – ensuring a safe working environment for all employees in both the engineering team and supporting this for the wider site. Ensure as an engineer that you and the team meet the standards set out in the health and safety policy. Support a H&S focused culture across all the teams.
- CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT – be an active part in delivering the company Operational Improvement Plan, identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements to the business.
- CUSTOMER – ensure a focus is on service delivery.
- OUR ENVIRONMENT – Recognise the importance of our environmental standards and uphold these during all shift activities.

Salary: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
