Job description
At the Compleat Food Group, we are on a mission to create great quality, tasty and affordable food, that people love to eat.
We're committed to doing it in a sustainable way, that delivers a positive impact on the world and maximises the well-being of the communities we are part of.
Home to exciting brands including Pork Farms, Wall’s Pastry, Squeaky Bean®, Unearthed®, Vadasz, and Wrights, we're also a leading supplier of delicious own-label pastry, olives and antipasti, continental meats and plant-based food to most of the UK's largest food retailers and food service companies.
Employing more than 3,500 people across 10 sites we have an annual turnover of £0.7bn and our ambition is to become the UK's No 1 chilled prepared food company, measured by ESG, culture and business performance. We are owned by European private equity firm PAI Partners.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for 3 Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers to join our Engineering team at our Tottle Bakery site in Nottingham.
The primary role of the Multi-Skilled Engineer is to carry out both reactive and preventative maintenance work on a variety of food-based equipment, to maximise their efficiency and enable production teams to meet production targets on time, on cost and to set quality standards.
You will be accountable for carrying out a variety of mechanical and electrical tasks including fault-finding, PPMs, routine repairs on various Seimens, Allen Bradley and similar food manufacturing and packing machines, ensure all repairs are conducted in line with GMP and closed off before handing any equipment back to production / hygiene teams.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Shift Manager, and working both independently and as part of a team, you will be responsible for delivering an excellent engineering service to keep the production areas running, reducing downtime, and improving safety. You will support your colleagues with any projects as required and ensure any uncompleted work is effectively handed over to the Engineer on the following shift, to aid completion. You will work closely with Production, Hygiene and Quality teams, to ensure all equipment is safe to use after any work is undertaken.
The site operates 24/6, 364 days a year and these roles will be based on a Panama shift pattern rotating days and nights, 39 hours a week, including weekend working, depending on your shift rotation. Additionally, you may be asked to support for colleagues during periods of absence and out of hours requirements, as and when required.
An ideal candidate is anticipated to have either previous experience from a food-based or FMCG industry, to be able to keep up with the fast pace and demands of the working environment, or be an appropriately qualified Apprentice looking to move into the food industry, as these roles will provide exposure to the challenges of a typical food manufacturing environment, with a number of time-served mentors available to pass on their knowledge and skills.
