Are you a Multi Skill Trades Operative looking to really make a difference?

Our Property Care team are recruiting for Multi Skill Trades Operatives based in each of our Localities to support the Service Managers deal with a range of urgent repairs including bathroom replacements, plastering works and damp and mould remedial works.

We are therefore looking for an operative based in the West Midlands area, Leicestershire and Derbyshire to support our Tame locality.

We need experienced Multi Skill Trades Operatives who have worked in Social Housing and can carry out a range of multi skilled maintenance works such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, wall tiling, flooring and decoration.

You will work closely with the Service Manager, to manage jobs from inspection, through carrying out the works independently and post inspection once works are completed.

Giving great customer service will be second nature to you! In this customer centred service role you will be an Ambassador of the Property Care business by promoting and maintaining good customer relations whilst delivering a quality service in line with the “Customer first” standards and procedures and ensure all work is delivered efficiently and effectively.

The role is varied. No two days will be the same and you will meet a wide range of customers along the way. It's a tough task and our expectations are high. In return, you’ll have the support of a great team.

As a Multi Skill Trades Operative:

You will be qualified in at least one of the following trades:

Plumbing, Carpentry, Flooring, Plastering and Decoration

You’ll have the ability to demonstrate an expertise in these trades and be able to deliver and resolve maintenance at a higher skill set than other Multi Skill Trades Operatives.

We want somebody who can:

A team player, you’ll be hard working and keen to learn with a can-do attitude. You’ll be working in people’s homes, so you’ll need to be friendly and approachable with good communication skills. You’ll also need to be organised and recognise the importance of delivering good customer service. You will also own the work issued and be focused on Right First Time delivery.

We want someone who has:

  • Served an Apprenticeship in a trade based subject or obtained an equivalent NVQ 2 or City and Guilds level 2 in a relevant trade.
  • Experience of working for a Social Landlord, housing association or council
  • Experience of delivering multi-trade work
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Experience of keeping jobs on track
  • The drive to ensure works are completed quickly and efficiently
  • Full driving Licence
  • As you will be working within Customer’s homes this role requires a DBS check.

There is also the opportunity to earn additional from being on the out of hours rota as required.
