Job description
The job itself
This is a really exciting time to join us in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We have a brilliant opportunity for an Occupational Therapist, to lead a project in partnership with the East Riding of Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership. The post is funded by the Better Care Fund for 12 months, to support best practice and enhance care in care homes with a focus on manual handling.
The aims of the project are to review current moving and handling practice and instigate plans to improve the manual handling in care home settings by embedding safe best practice principles; to support the reduction of falls and enhance care by ensuring individualised assessment. There will be an opportunity to shape the project and put your own stamp on it.
You will need to have excellent communication and engagement skills to work with key partners to co-produce and deliver a range of training, as well as working directly with care home managers and staff. The successful candidate will utilise project management and data analysis skills to evidence outcomes.
The post is being hosted by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Occupational Therapy service, but you will work directly with the ICB project steering group and system partners.
Please get in touch to have a chat and explore this opportunity further.
