Job description
Hello!
We are Smart City Media, a real estate marketing company based in Vancouver, BC, currently working remotely and operating across Canada. We do stuff LIKE THIS.
We're looking to add a Motion Designer to our team and if you're up for it and think you'd be a fit, we'd love to connect! While we’re currently remote, we’d love to be able to return to the office in a hybrid fashion sometime in the future so, while not essential, we’d love it if you were based in Vancouver as well.
About the role:
Your primary role would consist of After Effects motion graphics, integrating elements into footage using the 3D Camera Tracker and video editing in Premiere. From project to project you'll switch between working collaboratively with a team of other Motion Designers and autonomously.
The way we work is fairly unique and while we will provide training in company best practices and how to use our template bases/plugins, having a comprehensive grasp of AE/Premier will be key to your success in this role. If your grasp on the 3D tracker is less than perfect but you’re great with 2D, we can figure that out as well.
Besides animation and editing, some other skills that will come in handy:
- Interpreting technical and/or subjective information and laying out concepts and information in logical flows to help guide the production process
- Graphic design: Layout of complex information in easy to digest layouts for video
Although not required, we incorporate 3D architectural models into drone footage and render out complete 3D environments in our videos as well. Any understanding of Element 3D in AE, Twinmotion, Blender, Revit, Unreal Engine, Unity or Sketchup would be a bonus. Practical experience working with any of these programs would be a double bonus. Know how to do some other cool thing? Tell us about that too!
A couple of things about us:
- The people on our team mean everything to us and we're looking for a team fit, just as much as an experience/talent fit
- We value hard work, constant learning and continually pushing the bar to new levels
- We believe there is always a solution - sometimes we just need to be creative on ways to get there
- We all wear a lot of hats and we all count on one another as a team to be successful together
- We work with our employees to find their strengths and we play to them.
Compensation & Hours:
- Full time (40hrs/week)
- Annual salary dependent on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including dental, vision care and extended health
- Paid vacation and flexible work schedule
- Ability to work remotely on a regular basis
