We have an excellent opportunity for individuals to join an already well established team based at the Port of Sheerness, Briggs are currently looking for Mooring Assistants for on full time permanent and ad-hoc zero hour contracts.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of a team to moor ships at various locations in and around the Port of Sheerness.
- Operate a hand-held VHF for communicating with colleagues and vessels.
- Crew Pilot launch and workboats as required
- Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and colleagues to provide an effective service.
- Drive a company vehicle for the purpose of transporting yourself and other colleagues to a work site.
- Adhere to all company procedures and policies.
- Carry out any other task deemed appropriate by management
HEALTH & SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
- Ensure that all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice.
- Be pro-active with the Company Safety Management System and demonstrate safe working practices during all working activities.
- Contribute to all safety initiatives as required.
- Take responsibility for personal safety and that of co-workers.
- Undertake training as required to comply with Company regulations and legislative requirements.
