The Scientist will support design and implementation of yeast strains for production of biologically active peptides. Specifically, the job requires comprehensive knowledge around yeast for production and fermentation. They will be expected to manage resources, workflow, formulate and submit reports and data sheets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement yeast strains for production of biologically active peptides.
- Contribute to predetermined, prescribed or individual/joint research objectives in accordance with the project/company deliverables.
- Design, set up and perform experiments including expression tests and batch tests, analyse and interpret results and contribute to the development of experimental strategies.
- Provide regular updates to Senior Scientist and Molecular Team Lead
- Work closely with the technical manager and Molecular team to ensure implementation of work plans and outcomes
- Contribute to the organization, supervision, mentoring and training of less experienced members of the team to ensure their effective development, if required
- Document research output including analysis and interpretation of all data, maintaining records and databases, drafting technical/progress reports as appropriate.
- Proficiencies with data handling and word processing programs, as well as process optimizations' software such as JMP13.
- Contribute to the presentation of work at internal meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in team/group meetings/seminars/workshops across the company.
