Description of Team / Department
Aggregates.
Responsible to the General Foreman, for the day to day running of quarry plant.
Expected to carry out a variety of tasks within the production process, this will include operating all aspects of heavy mobile plant such as excavators, FEL's, rigid and articulated dump trucks , tele handler and tractor/bowser.
You will also be expected to carry out basic fitting duties and plant cleaning as and when required. In Addition, To ensure quality at all times.
Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role
We are currently looking to recruit a mobile plant operator at Ingleton Quarry, North Yorkshire. Applicants must be enthusiastic and willing to learn, work as a team member as well as being able to work on their own initiative.
You will be working as part of a hard-working team and will be expected to carry out a variety of tasks within the production process, which will mainly include operating heavy mobile plant i.e., FELs, Rigid/Articulated dumpers etc. and help with other simple general maintenance tasks and cleaning up.
You will be expected to work Saturdays as and when required throughout the year.
Previous experience would be an advantage, but full training will be given.
Reporting to the General Foreman/Unit Manager at either site the successful candidate must be willing to learn, flexible in their approach, able to work on their own initiative and under strict health and safety legislation.
The successful applicant will be expected to have or be willing to be trained to NVQ standard or equivalent, this is a good opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain multi-functional experience within the quarry operations division of a successful company.
To ensure that business operations are performed in accordance with statutory, Group and Regional administrative instructions and procedures in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place.
To assist the Foreman in carrying out the Company Quality Assurance scheme.
To perform any other relevant duties as requested by Management.
To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.
To promote and communicate Health & Safety requirements to all visitors.
Assist Management to ensure smooth running of the day to day business.
To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training courses as and when required.
To comply with all aspects of the Personnel Policies and Procedures of the Company.
Skills / Experience
Essential;
Have achieved, or be prepared to work towards QCF in Plant Operations.
