Medical Logistics Health Services is looking for an experienced Mobile Phlebotomist to join our team. The candidate for this post will have the opportunity to join a team of experienced healthcare professionals and work in a multinational environment.
The role will also foster your professional development as you learn to provide exceptional service to an elite clientele.
In addition to phlebotomy, you will be required to do COVID testing on film productions. Med Logistics will provide full in-house training for this service. Please note that the candidate must be comfortable with early starts and be in possession of a car.
Duties
- Arrange daily activities based on the urgency of requests for fluid samples
- Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
- Determine the right venipuncture method based on the patient's age, health etc.
- Reassure patients and help them relax
- Find veins that are suitable for puncture
- Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment
- Conduct Covid-19 patient sampling for PCR and Antigent tests, using the correct PPE
- Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
- Label samples correctly and send them for testing
- Answer patient questions and provide helpful information
- Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
- Act at all times within the boundaries of Health and Safety legislation, Data Protection Act and Care Quality Commission compliance requirements
- Keep to the dress code required by the Practice, both in terms of uniform and personal appearance
- Ensure that patient's rights are protected
We require
- Right to work in the UK
- Clear DBS
- Phlebotomy certification
- Phlebotomy proficiency
- CPR certification preferred
- Strong eye for detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient verbal and written English skills
- Proven ability to prioritize a variety of tasks
- Familiar with infection control policies and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions
- Team player
- Driving licence and owning a car would be beneficial
- Flexibility to work different work patterns, including early starts, late finishes and split shifts
- Good IT skills
