Equans is looking for a Mobile Janitor to join our team in North Lanarkshire Schools Bellshill ML4 3LR on a permanent basis. This is a part-time role working 20 hours per week + overtime hours. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
The role starts at 20hrs however overtime is required taking candidates over 35hrs a week.
Overtime is as set out as: Between 20-40 hrs=Plain Time. Over 40 hrs =Time and a half.
This position also has the potential to go to full time to fit in with the business needs.

The role requires the post holder to carry out the Janitors duties on any North Lan Schools site as required. The post holder must have a high degree of flexibility as they could be asked to work different shifts on different sites at any time, The duties required include, but are not restricted to:
What will you deliver?
Safe opening and closing of premises, including patrol and inspection through emergency procedures as appropriate the making secure
Liaise with Police in the event of break-in or fire and carrying out of laid down emergency procedures in these circumstances.
Operation and testing of intruder, fire alarm, and security lighting systems
Supervision of school to prevent damage, interference with property, unauthorised entry to the school and where appropriate prevention of
unauthorised parking within the school grounds.
Check and report on effectiveness of anti-vandal installations and systems and report to the HELPDESK.
Maintain safe pedestrian and vehicle access to the premises by salting and/or snow clearance.
Operating of heating plant to prescribed procedures produced by manufacturer to maintain the required temperature and provide hot water to accommodate school hours and lets.
Carry out any minor repairs to fabric and furnishings including touching up paintwork and replacement of light bulbs and tubes up to a height of 2.2 metres, and re-set of circuit breakers contained in distribution boards having a current rating of up to 60 amps. Also examination of ball cocks and water fittings, unchoke toilets, sinks etc. and removal of vandal markings, fixing door handles, etc.
Inspect school regularly and report defects in accordance with procedures in order that repairs can be undertaken.
Carry out random checks on cleaning standards as specified.

Who are we looking for?
Qualifications or Required Experience:
Candidates must be client friendly. Experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous. Candidates must be flexible in terms of availability etc.
This role includes a DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
