Joining The AA family as a Data Platform Developer, you’ll play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support business decision-making, using a range of tools such as SQL, PowerBI, PowerApps and PowerAutomate for The AA Driving School. Our Data Platform Developer will also collaborate closely with Data Engineering to encapsulate the end-to-end process of data acquisition, integration, storage, and presentation of our data.
Being a part of our multi-skilled Driving School Tech Team, you’ll build and scale-up a data warehouse to deliver analytics, insight and reporting to the Driving School and wider AA Group.

What will I be doing?
- Develop, test, and maintain our databases, data processing systems and data pipelines using T-SQL & SQL Server. Automate workflows and business processes using Microsoft PowerAutomate
- Build and implement high quality analytics and business intelligence solutions that can be scaled, designed for repeatable use, and gives insight ‘at-a-glance’ – including the creation of applications with MS PowerApps to meet both internal & external user requirements
- Ensure our data is kept at the highest possible level of quality and is easily accessible for business stakeholders and end-users. Build and maintain data test suites that ensure that data integrated into the data warehouse is of the highest quality and ‘bad’ data is ringfenced
- Collaborate with various levels of stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Join forces with the wider tech team and other business functions i.e., Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and external partners ensuring best practice is continually upheld, and business requirements/objectives are met when designing & implementing new systems, processes, or procedures
- Ensure we are always doing the most we can with continual code and service improvements. Explore the latest Data trends to own and suggest improvements to the way Data Engineering and Tech teams work as well as supporting to upskill the development of other colleagues
What do I need?
- Experience working with T-SQL and SQL as well as various other coding languages within Data i.e., DML
- Proficient with Microsoft Data platforms i.e., PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate etc.
- A natural problem-solver with demonstrable examples of owning solutions from end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support and enable strategic business goals
- Passionate about all things Data and with a willingness to continuously learn and develop new tools/skills
- Knowledge and understanding of how Data professionals can continually work within an Agile environment
