Job Title: MO11 - People & Development Manager
Salary: £32,194 to £34,452 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £32,194 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £34,452 will be via incremental progression.

In MO11 we provide a range of services to the Met, including providing Fleet, Vehicle Recovery, Catering, Travel, Cultural Services, Uniform, ID Passes, Exhibit Management, Records Management and Local support to officers. Whilst these services are quite different in what they deliver, the desired outcomes of delighting our customers, improving performance, delivering innovative services that are value for money and supporting and developing our people are the same.
The People & Professionalism team will be part of the new Business Support function, ensuring each of our business areas are properly resourced and supported. With a workforce of over 1000 Police Staff and Officers, the team will oversee activities such as all of our local recruitment, induction, learning & development, professional standards and a whole host of other people related matters. You will be enthusiastic, organised, flexible and self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering an excellent service. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is a team player and has either a knowledge of HR related activities or a keen interest to learn. You will also need to be able to balance a busy workload with multiple deadlines. Your primary role will be to support the workforce deployment and recruitment activities, planning and delivery of talent management activity, but with flexibility to support other “people” related areas in order for team resilience, service delivery and your own development. You will work closely with existing team members, the head of unit, and build excellent working relationships with leaders across MO11 to be able to support their requirements. Regular attendance at Kilburn is expected, and there will be travel across the MPS to support our local teams who work all across London.
Key Result Areas:

Support the creation of a high customer service and performance culture

Manage the team to deliver activities within Service Level agreement and to achieve the agreed Key Performance indicators

Lead the transition to end to end process driving continuous improvement through enhanced cost effectiveness and performance management

Manage the development and motivation of their staff through MO11 initiatives and through own actions and with reference to functional/professional standards

Ensures local systems of monitoring and control are delivering effective performance and compliance
- To directly and indirectly support MO11 in the delivery of business outputs and outcomes
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Health and Safety

Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral

Desirable Criteria, previous experience of:

Data analysis and/or data insight experience would be extremely beneficial for this role

Additional Information
