We are looking for an MLRO & MLCO like you to:

  • act as our Money Laundering Reporting Officer ("MLRO") and Money Laundering Compliance Officer ("MLCO") for UBS AG Jersey Branch and UBS Trustees (Jersey) Ltd
  • manage anti-money laundering cases and investigations and reporting to the relevant authorities as required
  • provide technical advice and guidance to internal customers to raise anti-financial crime awareness and compliance across UBS in Jersey
  • ensure that UBS in Jersey remains in full compliance with Jersey AML regulations and legislation
  • be our primary point of contact with the Jersey Financial Services Commission ("JFSC"), Joint Financial Crimes Unit ("JFCU"), Group Internal Audit and external auditors in respect of all financial crime matters

Your team

You will be working as part of our Compliance, Operational Risk & Control ("C&ORC") team reporting to our Head of C&ORC in Jersey and provide oversight to UBS's Banking and Trust Company business segments. You will be responsible for devising and implementing our anti-financial crime framework for UBS in Jersey, working closely with and supported by colleagues within our broader financial crime function globally.

Your expertise

  • at least three years of management experience, working in an anti-financial crime role and ideally acting in capacity of MLRO and /or MLCO (or equivalent) within banking, investment management and/or trust company business sectors
  • extensive knowledge of the key principles of Jersey AML regulations and laws, (e.g. JFSC AML Handbook, Money Laundering Order and the Proceeds of Crime Law)
  • ability to deliver to tight deadlines, to independently identify and assess financial crime 'red flags' and confidently communicate final decisions to management, front office staff as well as the JFSC and / or JFCU as required
  • experience in gap analysis and process improvement, especially related to audit work, to upgrade existing anti-financial crime processes and procedures
  • detail-oriented with an understanding of financial crime risks and controls, and the ability to multi-task alongside your day to day responsibilities
  • strong communication skills and the ability to formulate and articulate clear guidance to internal stakeholders with respect to financial crime issues in both verbal and written formats
