LOCATION - RAF ST MAWGAN

The MPGS provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Naval, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK Mainland. Our primary role is to counter the terrorist threat posed to military bases within the UK.

Our duties include:

Security incident management, such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.

Patrolling site perimeters and taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.

Controlling entry and exit to a sites, managing control room operations and ensuring all visitors are dealt with efficiently

Military Working Dog services (at selected sites).

Located at over 100 sites across the UK mainland, we have our own Military Local Service Contract which allows soldiers to choose where they wish to serve, providing there is a vacancy.

Requirements:

Age: You must be over 18 years and under 57 years of age at re-enlistment.

Background: You must have served for at least three years on a previous engagement in any of the three main armed services, including all its reservist units.

Transferees: Any currently serving personnel wishing to transfer to the MPGS from across the tri-services and its respective reservists units will automatically have there applications accepted, (offer of employment subject to approval).

Gap Since Leaving Service: Automatic application acceptance will be given to former substantive Cpl/LH and above ranks with no more than a 10 year gap of service, and for former non substantive Cpl/LH and below ranks who have a gap of service of no more than 6 years.

However, any former personnel with a time gap of up to 10 years can apply for this role, to which a time out waiver could be granted, subject to approval from NRC/APC and interview processes.

Fitness Eligibility: You must be medically fit and have a Body Mass Index below 32.

Previous Service Check: Your previous service records will be checked and final authorisation to proceed with the application must be given by the Army Personnel Centre.

Please note you will also need to have a full UK driving licence with less than 8 penalty points.
