We’re helping Refugees find a safe home in our community, can you help make this happen?

We have recently created a Migration team to welcome new residents into Bracknell communities who have arrived on Government Migration schemes (This includes schemes such as Homes for Ukraine, Hong Kong British Nationals and Afghan Relocation). To make this happen we need effective processes across multiple teams and partners. Could you coordinate this work with us? Your role will be central in providing the operational delivery of the Migration team projects to connect the data and processes so that we can effectively support our new residents.

What it's like working in our team...

The Migration team was established in April 2023 to bring together the Councils support across all Migration schemes. This is high priority and profile work in the council and we are working closely to deliver the best outcomes. We have a number of subject matter experts in the team and we are regularly in touch with staff across the whole council and more widely with partners.

The team sits within the Early Help team who lead on providing support to children and families within Bracknell Forest. We also work in close partnership across a number of council teams and external partners including Housing, Communications, Engagement, our Voluntary and Community sector partners, Health and Department for Work and Pensions.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training...

  • To provide operational coordination to ensure the Council’s statutory duties and agreed integration support to people arriving into Bracknell Forest are delivered effectively co-ordinating cross council support including, but not limited to, Afghans, Ukrainians, Hong Kong nationals and asylum seekers.
  • To collate, analyse and interpret data to forecast levels of migration, assess impact on services, track progress and monitor programme outcomes to support the delivery of Government Migration schems, working with a wide range of internal services and external partners including Government, Southeast Strategic Migration Partnership, the DWP and the voluntary, community and faith sector.
  • To lead on and coordinate cross council customer service, referrals, events, and case management for displaced people working with professionals across the council and in partners organisations.

The benefits you will experience are...

  • An inclusive and social working environment.
  • A supportive approach to working from home.
  • Flexible working opportunities including a flexi-time scheme.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement.
  • Regular opportunities for development with internal and external training courses, including apprenticeship opportunities.
  • A great office location next to travel links and the regenerated town centre.
  • Internal sports and social club opportunities.
  • Discounted leisure centre and gym membership.
  • Supermarket discount.
  • An interest free loan for a rail season ticket.

What we're looking for...

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with experience of coordinating operations in a fast paced environment. You will be able to communicate clearly the outcomes and any challenges in the delivery of the work and you will be confident in handling data and using databases. We’re looking for someone who can bring new ideas to our project and help us find solutions.

Interview date

Interviews will be held on Monday 15th May 2023.
