Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Maternity at UHD for a band 7 Fetal Monitoring Expert Midwife.
The post holder will be responsible for providing professional leadership across all aspects of fetal monitoring.
You will be working alongside the Lead Obstetrician, Consultant midwife, Matron for Labour and Postnatal Care and the Practice Education team to improve birth outcomes associated with fetal monitoring. This includes creating learning opportunities within the clinical environments and maintaining communication between teams as part of a commitment for the wider maternity service.
We are looking for an excellent communicator with good organisational skills who works well as part of a team and is able to work in partnership across different professional groups.
The Maternity Service is currently based across two sites, delivers over 4500 women per annum and is the centre for high risk care across East Dorset. Based on the Poole site is the Central Delivery Suite which has 8 birthing rooms, 2 obstetric theatres, a 2 bedded Maternity HDU and 3 bedded recovery area. Adjacent to the Delivery Suite is a 5 bedded midwifery led unit. Our Outpatient and Community services are based across both Poole and Bournemouth sites.
