Job description

We are looking for Midwives who are able to demonstrate sound clinical skills and a keen interest in the development of Midwifery practice. To support this we have a well-established in-service training programme and are committed to supporting staff in their personal professional development.

As a qualified midwife the post holder will be required to have the appropriate knowledge, skills and competences to provide supervision, care and advice to women from conception, through pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-partum period. This includes conducting deliveries under their own responsibility and to care for the new-born. This care includes preventative measures, the detection of abnormal conditions in the mother and child and the procurement of medical assistance. This practice may be in the home or hospital and should be based on the best available current evidence. The post requires effective communication and an ability to provide support to the clinical lead in their area of work.

A welcome subsidy of £1000 is available to all Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Midwives, ODPs and Radiographers taking up substantive employment with the Trust.
