Wholesale Portfolio Management (WPM) is a first-line of defence function with the mandate to pro-actively manage the credit risk and concentration risk of HSBC’s wholesale lending portfolio. Through their various activities, WPM helps the lending business to operate and grow prudently and profitably. WPM manages balance sheet utilisation and concentration risk by utilising securitisations, non-payment insurance, credit default swaps and loan sales to optimise capital and ensure capital preservation
We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Middle Office Lead.
The primary purpose of this role is to carry out Middle Office servicing tasks within wholesale portfolio management execution for securitisation products.
This is a highly strategic function within HSBC whereby you will gain lots of visibility and exposure to dealing with large transactions, managing risk and capital which is pivotal to the bank’s success. We operate globally so this role presents lots of opportunity to grow, develop and network.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a series of loan transactions, monitoring 15/20 live transactions and carrying out ongoing management tasks with regards to securitisations
- Negotiate with buyers, ensure terms are agreed, issue and review loan documentation
- Carry out investor and internal reporting, ensuring payments are made to investors
- Regularly liaise with internal stakeholders within operations and front office teams
- Monitor credit memo / applications raised against facilities in addition to monitoring facility level information from facility agent and maintain data room with insurance broker in addition to reviewing loan transfer and confidentiality restrictions and assist with closing and settlement tasks
To be successful in this role you should meet the following:
- A solid understanding of loans as a product, understanding the secondary market linked to the loan product to include loan trading settlements and loan documentation
- Proven background in Banking/Structured Finance or Markets or Credit Portfolio Management
- Excellent problem solving, organisational and prioritisation skills
- Able to articulate and communicate with stakeholders at various levels
- An eye for detail, being thorough in your approach and details focused
