Job Title: MHE Operations Operative – Night Shift

Reports to: Assistant Operations Manager

Location: Carlisle

Hours: 40 hours flexibly per week on a 24-hour availability basis, Monday to Sunday. Current normal working pattern is 17:00 – 01:30 Monday to Friday.

Salary: £19,800 per annum + £4,400 night shift premium allowance. Rising to £20,600 + £4,600 following successful probation.

Purpose of the role

Skilled Operations Operatives support our Operations here in Carlisle Brass. The purpose of our MHE Operations Operatives - Night Shift is to ensure that we provide a first-class service for our customers, ensuring they receive their orders quickly and with 100% accuracy.

You will be required to undertake a range of duties including picking, packing and loading orders for dispatch, receiving deliveries, organising stock and performing quality checks.

Key responsibilities

· Picking accurate and timely orders from order sheets.

· Checking orders and receipts in.

· Operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is required in this role, training will be provided on this where required.

· Dispatching orders correctly.

· Ensuring despatch method is applied and orders placed as directed for despatch on time.

· Unloading goods from delivery vehicles, this will involve utilising Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

· Working within the Cylinder Workshop and Eurolite departments as and where required.

· Ensuring timely creation of required products and dispatch in line with customer demand.

· Accurately assembling locks/cylinders, cut keys & complete systems to customer’s own requirements.

· Accurately, picking and packing daily orders for Architectural Hardware & various locks via our sales department.

· Checking incoming goods from suppliers against delivery notes and storing in designated areas.

· Assisting with stock level checking and participate in periodic stock takes as required.

· Storing products accurately in the correct location and to Health & Safety guidelines.

· Placing stock on shelves from bulk.

· Maintaining the accuracy of inventory on the shelf and pallet and the accurate recording of stock moves.

· Carrying out location checks and inventory counts as required.

· Accurate labelling activities.

· Maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety of self and others at all times.

· Maintaining a clean, tidy, safe working environment.

· Exercising care of company equipment and the facility.

· Undertaking and utilising training as required.

· Working as part of a team within Carlisle Brass and ASSA ABLOY Group.

· Participating in employee consultation and feedback forums.

· Any other duties as reasonably directed by the Manager or other Managers within the business.

Skills, competencies, qualifications and personal experience

· This role has an essential requirement for certificates held in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as specified by the business.
