Job description
Hargrove has an immediate opportunity for a talented Corrosion Engineer to join our Team in Geismar, LA. This position offers a highly competitive compensation package, including paid time off, health insurance benefits, and matching retirement contributions.
Primary Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Review and approve proposals and engineering conclusions/designs for step-and-touch and corrosion mitigation
- Manages and maintains the corrosion control programs, records and diagrams as required by regulations and sound business practice
- Participates with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance personnel during the design stage of projects regarding material selection and design to minimize the effects of corrosion
- Ensuring compliance with the Company design QA procedures and Company Management System
- Design, inspect and oversee the drilling of and installation of new ground beds field installation of new CP systems
- Independently conduct various field tests and inspection duties
- Direct the preparation of field drawings as required
- Prepare designs for grounding and bonding
Education: A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an acredited university is preferred. Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Integrity or Corrosion will be considered.
Experience: This position required 5 or more years experience working with mechanical integrity and corrosion mechanisms.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of mechanical integrity and corrosion mechanisms.
- Familiar with different materials, equipment, piping and their damage, corrosion mechanism, and with valid skill and qualification of API 571, 580, NACE
- Able to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal
- Use of reporting tools like MS office etc
- Technical expertise in corrosion and electrochemistry
- Knowledge of test methodology and equipment used in evaluating environmental resistance of metallic materials
- Knowledge of physical metallurgy of metallic materials with emphasis on interactions between alloy composition, processing, microstructure and properties
