This post is part-time and permanent, working 21 hours per week. The full time salary is £37,367 and is pro-rata for this part-time role.

We are seeking an experienced metadata librarian to join the Content and Digital Services team within the Library and Archives Service. The team is responsible for the library catalogue and the acquisition and management of all library study resources: books and e-books, journals and e-journals, databases, digitised chapters and the inter-library loan service. The team also manages access and authentication.

This post is the only dedicated resource for cataloguing and metadata services within the library and reports to the Senior Content Specialist (Acquisitions) who is responsible for setting and ensuring library-wide compliance to appropriate international cataloguing, classification and data management schemes.

The postholder will, take responsibility for the ongoing effectiveness of the metadata across all the library platforms. The catalogue in the library management system Alma, the online reading list system and our retrieval system Primo (Library Search).

They must also have a good knowledge of e-book and e-resource cataloguing.

Have experience of or wish to develop the skills for changing data, either by configuring import profiles or using software tools to make bulk data changes across all platforms.

And work well with a diverse range of colleagues and customers. Have excellent communication and relevant IT skills and enjoy working collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team.

As well as a generous salary and pension package, the University is also pleased to offer 35 days annual leave pro-rata in addition to Christmas closure and public holidays.

The Content and Digital services team are currently working in a hybrid way with a mix of onsite and home working over the week, with the expectation of 2 days onsite in a regular pattern per week.
