JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Site Merchandiser to manage the look and feel of our website, maintain an accurate product catalog, and enable our customers to seamlessly find what they are looking for. This is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with marketing, production, planning and customer service team members. This role reports to the Founder and CEO.
The ideal candidate will live near San Francisco, CA, where our office is located (we are currently hybrid and come into the office twice a week) but we will also evaluate remote candidates who reside in the states of CA, OH and FL.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Catalog:
  • Ensure new products are launched correctly and on time with the correct SKUs, appropriate description, pricing, and data. Ensure that new products sync correctly onto all selling platforms
  • Maintain accurate product information across our main Shopify-hosted website, plus all third-party marketplaces and platforms referencing product information. This includes tags, artist information, swatches, materials descriptions, size guides, etc.
  • Work closely with our photographer to ensure all product photography is delivered in a timely and accurate manner. Assist with digital photo asset management
  • Assign cross-sells and upsells to each product to help customers create a cohesive look for their pets
  • Troubleshoot all issues relating to the product catalog, leveraging help from Shopify, software providers, developers and third-party apps as needed. Escalate issues appropriately
Weekly Site Merchandising:
  • Optimize site merchandising based on sales and inventory trends, new seasonal launches, marketing communications, and product-related sales goals
  • Merchandise and manage collection landing pages based on seasonality, customer preferences and marketing team needs. This will involve choosing relevant products, creating compelling copy and visuals, and optimizing page layout for conversion
  • Regularly review customer photos (from Instagram, product reviews, etc.) and identify high-quality UGC to surface on the website
Marketing Launches:
  • Ensure the timely launch of all assets on the homepage, collections pages, and product pages
  • Launch and manage all promotions and discount codes
  • QC all links on the website and other marketing assets (such as emails)
  • Review and test the user experience on various devices and browsers
  • Monitor inventory to ensure that email and digital marketing efforts are well supported; proactively raise inventory issues as needed
Customer Experience, QC and Testing
  • Perform daily/weekly site QA. Monitor the full customer experience funnel by consistently performing a series of checks of product pages, category pages, cross-sells, search keywords, navigational elements, customer feedback, and more. Surface UX or design issues or bugs, and escalate issues as needed
  • Coordinate with 3rd party apps and developers to troubleshoot back-end and customer-facing issues
  • Support website maintenance and enhancements including SEO updates, redirects, site errors and user testing
  • Work closely with customer service to identify and troubleshoot product or customer issues that arise on site
Research and Analysis
  • Provide detailed seasonal and ad-hoc reports and analysis on the performance of key landing pages
  • Collect and analyze homepage clicks, conversions, bounce, exits and other KPIs to help leverage those learnings to improve revenue performance
  • Perform competitive website analysis, keep abreast of market trends and e-commerce trends to support short and long-term strategies
  • Stay up-to-date on Shopify Plus capabilities and additional functionality offered by the Shopify app marketplace

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-4 years of e-commerce site merchandising experience
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Experience with Shopify is required (the ideal candidate will have experience with Shopify Plus including using metafields to manage product data)
  • Familiar with troubleshooting website-related issues; comfortable with reaching out to software providers, developers and third-party apps to get help as needed
  • A proactive problem solver with a natural instinct to try to solve the issue yourself first, then escalate as needed
  • Exceptional proofreading skills. Excellent grammar and spelling
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail. A perfectionist who wants to get things right; diligent and conscientious about adhering to quality standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of basic HTML is a plus, including working with development teams using a ticketing system
  • Positive and can-do with a willingness to roll up your sleeves & take on any task that’s needed. A desire to get things DONE above all else
  • A dog lover, of course!
