The role:
Reporting into the Global Senior Merchandiser, you will support the trading of UK and EMEA Direct trading, predominantly in the Store & Outlet Channels, as well as provide aid to the E-commerce & all B2B channels when required on a planned & Ad Hoc Basis. Working closely with our store teams, you will manage stock replenishment and ensure store stock levels are maintained in line with department targets, to ensure that stores have the right products at the right time, place and quantity, in order to meet and exceed sales targets. With a flair for attention to detail, you will be responsible for ensuring sales analysis, sales reporting & business stock availability reporting is carried out in an accurate & timely manner.
What you will do:
- Review targets on best selling lines on a weekly basis, amending stores to sufficient forward weeks cover. Highlight any lines that have excessive stock cover and recommend remedial action. Be aware of forecast sales lifts and decreases and manage stock build to correct volumes.
- Review critical stores weekly, amending targets accordingly, taking proactive measure to potentialise sales where possible. Identify top performing and underperforming stores and propose actions to be taken to Assistant merchandiser. Collate information regarding consolidating seasonal or old stock, to sell through as appropriate, maximising sell through.
- Analyse and prepare replenishment for best selling lines with limited stock, through amending allocations/range and editing underperforming stores in conjunction with the Retail Operations team & Assistant Merchandiser. Understand allocation deficiencies and rework allocations, making commercial decisions regarding the ranging of the line, allocation percentage and initial allocation quantities.
- Communicate with stores regarding product & merchandising information through a weekly message board, as well as preparing an analysis and report on the best and worst performing products on a weekly basis. Ensure that deliveries align to stores opening schedules and have an awareness of key trading events that will impact on allocation and replenishment capabilities.
- Provide general support to the Merchandising & Product marketing team where required
- Review, develop and streamline processes and systems to improve the efficiency of merchandising/replenishment activities
- Regularly visit stores & competition to build knowledge and experience of retail industry, ensuring awareness of new products/ marketing launch calendar
What you will need:
- Graduates preferable
- 6-12 months experience in a head office merchandising role
- Experience working across all aspects of the Buying & Merchandising cycle, as well as Inventory Management
- A sound understanding of the retail industry
- Experience in a global business and/or health & beauty sector would be an advantage
- Microsoft Office competence and experience working with Excel
- Ability to communicate and influence across a cross-section of disciplines and staff level.
- Must be a highly organised, motivated and determined individual. Flexible, adaptable and organised.
- Demonstrable affinity with the Molton Brown brand. Thrives on fast paced multi-channel retailing.
