Caraston Support Ltd - Enhanced Community Recovery Service (ECRS) has a vacancy for a mental health support worker.
Our ECRS provides 24-hour supported living for individuals with an enduring mental illness and other complex needs who are moving from secure hospital settings into the community. Some of whom may have a forensic history.
We are looking for a full-time, dedicated worker who is flexible, committed, and looking for an opportunity to learn and gain experience. The role requires working within a team and as an individual, supporting clients with a range of needs.
What the job role entails:
Supporting adults with a diagnosed mental illness to ensure they have a good quality of life and gain increased independence in achieving their goals. You will be able to demonstrate care, compassion, and an understanding of challenges that our clients face. This includes:
- Providing care and support through a focus on clients’ needs that reflect agreed short and long-term goals
- Monitoring of the accommodation, support, and care to ensure safety and well-being
- Carry out individual need/risk assessments; develop person centred support/care plans with clients and others involved in their support/care; and carry out regular reviews, ensuring excellent standards and successful outcomes for clients
- Support clients to take control of their lives & maximise their independence, meeting clients’ needs and managing risk on a day-to-day basis
This is an exceptional opportunity to gain skills and qualifications as well as the potential for progress to the role of senior support worker or deputy manager. We offer a wide range of free training in subjects such as ADHD, autism spectrum, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and trauma informed approaches. We offer the NVQ Level 3 and Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care - qualifications that are recognised across the social care sector.
Hours and Salary:
- Working a combination of day shifts, with enhanced payments for Saturday evenings, Sundays, and bank holidays.
- Entry support worker rate of pay is £10 per hour rising to £10.20 per hour after completion of 6-month probationary period.
- Additional enhanced payment (11.50 - £11.70 per hour) for weekend hours and overtime.
