Part-time Member Support

Hiyacar’s purpose is to connect drivers to a car when and where they want one. Our cities are full of underused cars so we have to be smarter about mobility. We need fewer cars used more efficiently and a new model of car access, not car ownership. Cars depreciate and lose money--they are liabilities not assets. Our tech platform transforms cars into assets that keep communities moving.

We are on the lookout for the right person to join our Member Support Team on a part-time basis, ideally for Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday shifts, and help us make this a reality across the UK! We’re growing rapidly which is exciting, but it’s also hard work and requires us to stay curious and learn fast.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Being the first point of contact for our members, providing the 5 star experience that we pride ourselves on both over the phone and via live chat
  • Supporting and giving advice to members on a broad range of issues
  • Working to identify common issues and improve our system
  • Reviewing applications from new members and helping them to complete the sign-up process where necessary
  • Reviewing claims arising from bookings and resolving any issues including cleaning and parking tickets & other penalties

The job is a part-time role, with set shifts per week - Wednesdays and Thursdays 7 AM to 1 PM and Saturdays 7AM to 3PM, for a total of 20 hours per week. There may be opportunities to pick up additional paid shifts, though this is entirely optional.

Our office is located in Shoreditch, just a 5 minute walk from Old Street station if you want to ever work from there, but coming in the office won’t be a requirement for this role.

We are looking for someone that:

  • Believes in working with purpose, and principles over detailed rules.
  • Is a great communicator with previous experience in a customer support position.
  • Loves helping people, has a passion for excellence in customer service and a great sense of empathy.
  • Finds problem solving exciting, stays curious about it, and is able to understand members’ point of view.
  • Understands the value of supporting other team members and building relationships with them - being a team player is a big part of the role.
  • Has initiative, is proactive and has a constant desire to learn.
  • Is able to actively ask for help when something is unclear
