
MEICA Electrical Team Member London, England
Job description
As part of the Thames Barrier and Associated Gates (TBAG) Engineering Team, you will report to the Electrical Team Leader and be part of the Thames Tidal Defences (TTD) MEICA team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Routine and reactive maintenance across a variety of electrical equipment.
- Fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Installation, modification and replacement of electrical equipment.
- Operational role during trials/flood defence operations.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team and this role are based in London at the Thames Barrier
- Understanding and respect of safe working practices and procedures.
- Electrical installation and maintenance experience.
- Experience of working to Standards, Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice.
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft programs.
- Educated to engineering apprenticeship level or equivalent with wide vocational experience.
Desirable
- BS7671 18th edition qualification
- Electrical Installation 2360 Parts 1&2 or an NVQ Level 3 equivalent.
- JIB/ECS card
- City & Guilds 2391/2394 & 2395 inspection and testing
- Experience of hydraulics, HV distribution, SCADA, instrumentation or telemetry systems
£3,889 - London Weighting
£6,000 for Chartered or £3,000 for an Incorporated MEICA engineer registered with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
When trained and competent:
£3,856 - Standby Allowance (calculated at £148.34 per week covering 1 week in 2 over 52 weeks) and
£3,000 - Site Allowance
