Our service offers a low secure hospital setting based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and provides a range of assessment and treatment services to 31 adults with a primary diagnosis of learning disability.
Are you looking for a fulfilling administrative role within the healthcare sector? We are currently seeking a dedicated and efficient Medical Secretary to join our Learning Disability and Mental Health Service team in the tranquil rural village of Burston, Norfolk. This site-based position offers the opportunity to provide essential administrative support to our Multi-Disciplinary team, including Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and the Nursing Team.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage diaries, ensuring seamless coordination of internal and external meetings and appointments.
- Handle correspondence, both electronic and physical, ensuring accurate and timely communication between team members and external parties.
- Greet and assist external visitors and professionals, maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Update and maintain the patient database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Provide support and cover within the wider site Admin team, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- Attend various meetings and take comprehensive and highly accurate minutes, ensuring that you document discussions, decisions, action items, and follow-ups during meetings.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software.
- Experience in using Teams or similar collaboration platforms.
- Preferably, familiarity with medical terminology to effectively navigate and comprehend the unique language of the healthcare field.
- Strong organisational skills, enabling you to prioritise tasks and manage your workload efficiently.
- Capability to work independently, while also contributing effectively to a larger team.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in administrative tasks.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
