Epic Systems Analyst
Summary: The Application Analyst will serve as an intermediate level functional expert and is responsible for the workflow configurations, support, and any on-going build efforts including upgrades, and modifications for EPIC and other applications required by the healthcare system. This position will also be responsible for specific aspects of assigned projects, will research system problems, refer problems as required to vendors, assist in training users on assigned software and will work with various departments to ensure satisfaction with their systems. The Application Analyst provides outstanding customer service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care and ensure revenue integrity.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and department functions.
- Install EPIC applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications.
- Communicate configurations and application settings to key stakeholders.
- Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
- Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements
- Evaluate the operational workflow applied to the system
- Create system specifications from user requirements
- Coordinate workflow documentation and integration with applications collaborating with key stakeholders and operational subject matter experts
- Participate in the planning and implementation of system infrastructure changes (change control, system upgrades, copy/restore events, application of service packs, downtimes)
- Participate in full life-cycle system testing; develop test scripts, coordinate the setup of the testing environment, execute testing scripts, identify issues, and coordinate issue resolution
- Collaborate with the Epic Cogito and reporting team to develop and support requested reporting for key stakeholders
- Lead demonstrations of applications and functionalities within applications to peers, end users and leaders
- Coordinate the deployment of changes and environmental readiness in support of work efforts following defined COA Change Control workflows
- Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users
- Maintain system protocols – adhering to best practices of COA and the industry
- Participate in policy and procedure development as it relates to security, downtime, backup operations and disaster recovery activities.
- Administer application-level security and access controls in conjunction with IT Provisioning team
- Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support
- Provide application troubleshooting support EPIC and other applications. Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required
- Create, monitor, and work, assigned incidents to resolution. Initiates and coordinates troubleshooting with team members and peers for known issues
- Perform regular on call rotation and coverage as assigned
- Cross trains and mentors new team members and end user
- Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain credentials
- Perform all other related duties as assigned

- Epic Application/module experience (including but not limited to implementation, troubleshooting, and support) with the Epic Foundation System strongly preferred.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical area, computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience
- Epic certification within 6 months of hire, if applicable
Working Conditions
- Use of personal mobile phone and reliable home internet are required.
- Agreement to COA IT Remote Work Procedure required.
- Analyst positions in IT are fixed salary; work may be required outside normal, daytime business hours (i.e., on-call support, system implementations, emergency outages, etc.).

Schedule: Full-time, Day shift, 08:00AM - 4:30PM
