Job description
We are looking to recruit a full time medical receptionist staff to our friendly Practice team who support our clinical team across our GP practices to provide a high standard of care for our patients. The successful candidate will work hours on a rota basis during practice opening hours. The practice is open from 8.00am until 6.30pm. Must be willing to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am until 6:30pm.

We are therefore seeking candidates to provide a friendly and welcoming service to all patients, staff and visitors to the surgeries and to deal with all enquiries/tasks in a competent and thorough manner.
There may be a requirement to work across practices therefore candidates need to be flexible. Previous experience would be desirable but not essential.
General Practice is a fast-paced extremely busy, challenging and extremely rewarding environment. Therefore, the ability to work accurately, quickly and efficiently is essential.

Job Summary
To provide a friendly and welcoming service to all patients, staff and visitors to the Surgery and to deal with all enquiries/tasks in a competent and thorough manner.
Reception Duties
- Answering telephone calls
- Greeting patients and visitors to the Health Centre in a polite and courteous manner
- Dealing with all requests from patients, staff and health care professionals
- To be able to use the appointment systems (EMIS) confidently and to book, cancel and re- schedule appointments
- Updating patient details on the clinical system
- Making sure the appointment system runs smoothly
- Checking in samples correctly for Health Care Assistants following required protocol
- Liaising with local pharmacies and dealing with queries
- Filing letters for collection
- Giving out result comments from GPs
- Documenting contacts with patients in the clinical system
- Monitoring and action of the practice email account
- Any other duties deemed commensurate with the job grade.
- Scanning documents and workflow
- Checking and actioning emails daily
- Dealing with all incoming tasks/work requests
- Any other duties deemed commensurate with the job grade.
