JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director and MD, the Medical Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for successful supervision of the day to day activities and work flow in the family practice clinics, Health and Wellness Center, or specialty office. The office supervisor will be responsible for enforcing protocols, policies, and procedures in correspondence with the Clinical Director; implement corrective action plans/write ups, give praise to staff and recognition and staffing evaluations.

Knowledge of :
· ICD-9/ ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT coding
· Human resources
· Health plan/vendor contracting
· Federal and state healthcare mandates and regulations
· Company policies and procedures
· Microsoft office applications and spreadsheets
· General front office procedures and skills
· Back office procedures and skills
· BLS and CPR
Ability to:
· Problem-solve, negotiate, and demonstrate independent decision-making
· Provide leadership to staff through team building, coaching, mentoring, and performance improvement
· Prioritize with excellent organizational skills, responding to multiple demands and timeliness
· Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills using the English language
· Demonstrate project management skills, including the ability to plan a project and stay within plan and budget
· Demonstrate ability to respond to common inquiries from patients, customers, vendors, regulatory agencies, health plans or member of the business community and possess excellent customer service skills
· Twist, turn and utilize reaching motion, ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Medical Assistant certification and CPR/BLS certification.
SKILLS
Able to work independently. Has knowledge of industry standards and expectations. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within this field. Excellent verbal and written skills. Computer literate with knowledge of Excel/Word. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Able to verify a variety of standard and/or complex patient data. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Excellent telephone skills. HMO and insurance experience required. Able to type 40+ words per minute. Works independently under the direction of the PM Manager. LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate medication dosages and balance a cash drawer
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
PAY: $17 – $22.95 DOE
NOTE: per the new CDPH Mandate – we now require all employees that work in our clinics to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Must be FULLY VACCINATED and Boosted or have a medical exemption from a medical provider or a religious exemption from your religious leader.
