Job description

Pathology Blood Sciences is looking to recruit a Medical Laboratory Assistant experienced in pre-analytical processes to support the Blood Sciences Specimen Reception team.

Working alongside the Management Team, you will be required to support the day to day activities of the administrative team in Specimen Reception with a focus on workflow and staff coordination.

You will:

  • Possess good communication and organisational skills.
  • Be fully competent in pre-analytical Specimen Reception procedures.
  • Work as part of a large team.
  • Have a positive approach towards service development
The Specimen Reception is responsible for handling the full range of pre & post analytical services for Blood Sciences, acting as the interface between our users and our laboratories. This includes but is not limited to sample sorting, quality assuring, sample data entry and transporting patient samples for onward testing and sending out results reports. It is a fast paced environment with a demand for accuracy and efficiency of data input.
