General Summary
Under moderate supervision performs a variety of front and back office duties in the clinic.

Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Director or Manager of the department
High School diploma or equivalent required. One year front and back office experience or successful completion of a formal medical assistant training program required. Certified medical assistant preferred. Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, is preferred. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
Working Conditions
Works in a clean, fast paced medical office environment with frequent interruptions and multiple demands. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, requiring the observance of Standard (universal) Precautions and safe handling practices. This position has been classified as low or no exposure risk and does not require the completion of an annual testing, but may require "just in time" testing if the need arises.
Physical Requirements
Requires sitting approximately 50% of the time; with the other 50% walking and standing. Frequent bending and reaching for supplies, documents, etc.; includes lifting and carrying supplies and files weighing up to 20 pounds. Requires manual dexterity for using operating office equipment and back office procedures; visual acuity required to use computer monitor and read documents. Talking and hearing necessary for conversations with callers and other customers.
