The Barden Corporation is recognised as a world leader in the design and manufacture of super precision ball bearings. Barden bearings are produced using advanced technology to the highest standards. Our bearings are used in virtually every sector of industry where there is a need to meet critical tolerances, high speeds and reliable performance under the most demanding operating conditions.
We are currently looking for someone with a good grounding in Power BI, SQL and other data tools who is looking to develop their data and Business Intelligence skills in a junior data analyst role.
You will help support an increasing volume of business intelligence requests, primarily using Power BI to create and update dashboard reports and will also develop into the go-to team member for SQL related requirements. You’ll be working closely with an experienced business intelligence analyst as part of an IT team of 12 people across two companies in the UK and Germany.
You will work with a wide range of stakeholders, gathering requirements and providing insight which will be used to make key decisions and implement changes.
This opportunity allows you to produce analytics work that will make a difference – it will be used to make important decisions and improve a wide range of areas within the business.
Responsibilities
As a business analyst, you'll need to:
- communicate with internal colleagues to understand the needs of departments and the organisation as a whole
- work with external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the service, function, or product provided
- use data modelling practices to analyse your findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes
- consider opportunities and potential risks attached to suggestions you make
- identify the processes and information technology required to introduce your recommendations
- understand and validate the data you’re using and the reports that are being created
- communicate the benefits of your recommendations across departments and help to address any uncertainty and concern
- produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary
You'll need:
- excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a technical translator between parties
