We are looking for a friendly, caring, patient-centric Pharmacy assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the pharmacists in delivering high quality, excellent healthcare service and experience to patients. As the first point of contact with patients in the pharmacy, this is a key role in welcoming patients, gathering information on their needs, providing them appropriate health advice, or referring to the pharmacists as needed.

The assistant will also receive prescriptions predominantly online and help to dispense these correctly and in a timely manner, to ensure prompt delivery directly to the patient’s home.

The assistant will complete sales transactions and restock over the counter and prescription medications on shelves. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain valuable experience in the retail industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients with a smile and listen to their needs.
  • Provide advice to patients or refers to the pharmacists when required.
  • Selling over the counter medicines
  • Supports in the efficient running of the pharmacy including, receiving stock and putting items on the shelf both at the front counter and dispensary.
  • Receive, load, unload incoming goods from wholesalers, manufacturers and elsewhere.
  • Performs administrative duties including answering phones, receiving prescription orders, operating cash registers, and restocking inventory.
  • Receive online orders and prepare these for delivery.
  • Receive online and in person prescriptions, assemble and label medicines ready for the pharmacists to check.
  • Ensures that health and safety requirements are met
  • Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness of working area.

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week

Salary: £10.00-£11.00 per hour

Education:
