Job description
Southview Medical Group, P.C. is a large, multi-specialty medical practice with 37 Physicians and approximately 200 employees. Our specialties include Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Disease. Our current opening is for a Dermatology Medical Assistant for Dr. Timothy McGraw.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Greet patients and assist them to exam rooms, perform patient assessments and document via electronic charting, obtain cultures from patients, assist physician with various procedures, handle surgical set up, assist with surgical procedures, clean and stock exam rooms, sterilize instruments, operate lasers, administer light box therapy and extract therapy, schedule patient surgeries, prepare charts for surgery (scan consent forms in EHR chart), maintain physicians surgical schedule, fill out results cards for benign patient results, maintain Accutane registries for patients, maintain medicine samples, maintain protocol manual for clinical dermatology area, and other duties as assigned by Manager.
Work hours are typically between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM depending on daily schedules. (8 hour shift) Work days are Monday through Friday.
Southview strongly prefers that candidates have previous Dermatology experience in an office environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with physicians, patients, coworkers, and management. Due to the high volume usage of Electronic Health Records, it is required that candidates have a strong background utilizing computers in a working environment.
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred.
