Summary of Position:
Maintains an organizational system to aid in the smooth flow of patients in the clinical setting. This includes following established procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements as it applies to direct patient care in the outpatient (primary care or specialty) setting. Provides basic, direct patient care under the direction of a physician or mid-level provider. All care is provided in compliance with and according to departmental policy, which includes participating in medical and social history to assist in the assessment of patient need, and communicates with the health care team, as appropriate.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Rooms patients, collects vitals, chief complaint / medical / social history. Breakdown, cleaning and set up of exam rooms to insure consistent patient flow. Assist with clinical inventory process. Delivers direct care and comfort care to satisfy the needs of patients.
Helps maintain accurate medical records by appropriately filing reports with Medent (EMR) and ensuring completeness of documents prior to filing chart. Facilitates coordination for patient access to resources.
Follows through with patient lab orders to include phlebotomy, point of care testing and EKG, and specimen collection.
Community Health Center: Conducts PAM assessments for all Medicaid patients and enters assessments into data system.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior medical office experience preferred.
Community Health Center: One year previous emergency department, nursing school student, CNA preferred and/or equivalent required.
Computer skills and working knowledge of programs preferred. Must possess above average typing skills and ability to use information systems.

- Must be adept with oxygen tanks and regulators, twelve lead EKG, set up of nebulizers, performing blood pressures, safe operation of wheel chairs and stretchers.
