Job description
We are a busy community Pharmacy in the heart of Westhoughton.
Dispensary assistants work as part of a pharmacy team under the direction of a registered pharmacist. Tasks to be undertaken include:
- the sale of over-the-counter medicines and the provision of information to customers on symptoms and products
- prescription receipt and collection
- the assembly of prescribed items (including the generation of labels)
- ordering, receiving and storing pharmaceutical stock
- receiving, loading, unloading deliveries
- the supply of pharmaceutical stock
- answering customers questions face to face or by phone
- preparation for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products
- manufacture and assembly of medicinal products
- referring problems or queries to the pharmacist
Dispensary assistants need to be:
- accurate and methodical
- responsible
- willing to learn and improve on existing skills
- able to work well alone and as part of a team
- able to pay attention to detail
- able to understand law and guidelines on medicines
- able to read and carry out instruction
- to be interested in people’s health
- able to explain clearly to members of the public
The ideal candidate will have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills and also excellent communication, customer service and manual skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £10.42-£10.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bolton, BL5 3SX: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)
