A Day on The Job
The Float Medical Assistant plays a vital role in achieving PPTNM’s mission by providing exemplary front office and back office services for our patients. This role will be primarily assigned to our Nashville center with assignments at our Knoxville location and the potential for occasional travel to Memphis. Throughout the day you may conduct a variety of tasks including patient check in/out insurance verification, determining and collecting service fees, financial record management, inventory, patient assessment, patient education, laboratory duties, venipuncture, instrument sterilization, procedure room set up and assistance, and medical record documentation.
Your Schedule
Must be able to report to any of the locations as scheduled Monday through Friday. Shifts will range between six and eight hours a day and will typically fall between the hours of 8:00a to 5:00p with an average of 32-40 hours a week.
Compensation
This is a contracted position, for a term of 12 to 16 weeks with extension possibilities and, an hourly rate of $25.00 for services provided at the health centers. If the assigned location is 45 miles or more from the contract holder’s home, the cost of authorized overnight lodging will be reimbursed by the company.

We need someone who has:
- Earned at minimum a High School Diploma or GED
- Graduated from a Medical Assistant program or greater than three years of current medical assisting experience. A strong preference for Medical Assistant certification- CCMA, RMA, NRCMA
- BLS Certification
- At least one year of medical assistant experience in a high-volume urgent care, clinic or primary care setting or two or more years of experience as a medical assistant in other health care settings.
- Demonstrated confidence and competence in providing care to patients and managing their PHI.
- Confidence in performing venipuncture
- A valid Tennessee Driver’s License
