The Strickland Family Medicine Center is a state-of-the-art family medicine teaching facility that will help transform the health of Gwinnett community. The family medicine center is focused on engagement between the patient, their family and the broader medical team. Families now have access to medical care from trusted physicians who can meet all of their needs in one location as a range of treatment options are available from newborn care to geriatrics, and including maternity care.
- Interviews patient and records patient medical history and specific information related reason for visit. Prepares patient for examination by performing and recording preliminary vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, weight.
- Reports abnormal symptoms, unusual conditions or adverse reactions to physician. Measures and records accurate vital signs.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, sterilizing instruments as needed.
- Assists physicians and nurses with physical examination and treatments, and performs surgical preps and simple dressing changes.
- Provides procedures and treatments as delegated by physician.
- Maintains patient medical records; obtains information necessary to initiate routine admission procedures as required.
- Enters physician orders for tests, procedures, etc. into computer system. Schedule tests and treatments, as ordered by the physician.
- Transcribes medical orders, prints lab reports
1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.- Current BLS card (CPR).
- Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position if such duties are related to lab duties.
- If employed at North Georgia Diagnostic Clinic, RMA or CMA must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Certified as Medical Assistant.
