Medical Assistant for Dermatology & Mohs Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of patient care related to medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology
- Room patients and document medical history, verify medication list, and complete EMR check-in
- Monitor and help maintain efficient clinic for physician
- Scribe appropriate documentation into EMR with physician
- Assist physicians with dermatology patient care, including but not limited to documentation, patient education, and hands-on assistance.
- Assist physician with surgical procedures including but not limited to skin biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and cautery, cryotherapy, Mohs micrographic surgery and associated laboratory work.
- Assist with specimen processing in Mohs surgery lab.
- Assist physicians with cosmetic procedures including but not limited to toxin injections, filler injections, chemical peels, microneedling, etc.
- Perform packing and sterilization of instruments
- Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies
- Prepare and document specimens for pathology
- See post-operative patients and remove sutures/staples, assist with bandaging, and educate patients on proper and individualized wound care instructions
- Assist patients with pre-operative instructions and protocols and educate them on informed consent for procedures
- Assist physicians through adequate charting to hit performance measures as required by insurance and governmental plans
- Monitor and document labs and pathology, including follow-up with patients
- Help with skin care product knowledge and service sales and basic office care and clean up
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be willing to cross train within the role
- Electronic medical record experience preferred
- Candidate must be highly professional, personable and share our commitment to patient care and service
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Must have a heart for service and compassion for people
- Must be a team player with a desire to grow in knowledge and skill and flexibility to handle a variety of duties
Preferred Qualifications Education/Experience:
- Previous experience in dermatology preferred, but not required
- Experience with EMR systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Participate in continuing education opportunities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

License/Certification:
