Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant - Dispensary
Division: Unplanned & Integrated Care
Band: 2
Salary: £22,383 per annum/pro rata
Interview Date: Week Commencing 3rd July 2023
We are recruiting for aPharmacy Assistant - Dispensary who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
To undertake general supply (dispensing) and inventory management (stock control) duties within the Pharmacy to meet the needs and expectations of our service users.
To act as the lead dispenser for external pharmacy customers, and to delegate duties when not able to do so
To train other members of pharmacy staff regarding processes for external customers
To manage out of stocks and other communications to external customers
Participate in Pharmacy reception duties and general dispensary duties including dispensing as required
To manage and maintain the Pharmacy virtual outpatient clinics
To support and assist all members of the Pharmacy team.
The successful applicant(s) will be required to work towards a Level 2 in Pharmacy services if not already obtained. Full support will be given for this.

The successful candidate will take the lead for dispensing services supplied by MMH to external customers; they will communicate with the lead Distribution assistant to ensure that the service is run smoothly and efficiently and that any and all queries and communicated back to our external customers in an appropriate and timely manner. The successful candidate will also partake in all other reasonable duties required of the Pharmacy assistant
To lead the dispensing service for our external partners, including supply of patients discharge medicines, inpatient medicines and controlled drug stock.
Maintain accurate records on both the CMM dispensing system and PTS (both for deliveries and general activity monitoring)
To ensure regular stock balance checks are carried out of the ‘Wholesale’ CD location and any discrepancies actioned immediately
Act as the main communicator between the dispensary at MMH and any external customers, such as MCH
Work closely with the band 3 distribution assistant to ensure external customers receive a high quality and timely service
Log, communicate and action any out of stock items needed by external customers
Ensure that any to-follow or out of stock issues are promptly and accurately reported to both the procurement and distribution managers, as-well as external partners
Ensure that any to follow items are sent as soon as possible and any discrepancies checked
Carry out daily stock checks against the computer generated monitoring sheets for stock audit. Ensure that any discrepancies are reported.
Receive outpatient prescriptions from customers and take the appropriate payment, advise on any benefits available to them and obtain details, to ensure the back of the
Record all financial transactions connected with NHS and private patients
To carry out any other duties deemed necessary as part of the job role
